In this blog post, I introduced the six types of core funnels that most businesses will find useful. And last time I went through Funnel #1: The “Real Stuff” Funnel in more detail. If you don’t already have access to these awesome core funnels, you can do so by signing up for the ClickFunnels 14 day free trial.
Now, moving on to Funnel #2: The Product Launch Funnel.
Tip: I always “clone” my funnel templates instead of editing them directly (learn how to clone a funnel here). In case anything goes wrong, I can still start from scratch with the original one! But don’t worry – you can also get a fresh copy of the Product Launch Funnel here.
Let’s say you are planning to release a product that you’re really excited about. But how do you make the launch a success? While it’s no doubt important that you craft the best product possible, you’ll also need to start marketing the product early.
How? With a product launch funnel.
Broadcast the message.
Get people excited.
Build up the anticipation.
Recruit your affiliates on board.
So that when it comes to the actual launch date, people are coming to you with their credit cards.
With this product launch funnel template, the idea is that you release a sequence of videos prior to the actual launch date (i.e. when your shopping cart opens!) to prime people for the launch – by educating them and pre-selling the product. In a nutshell, it looks like this:
So, on your landing page, you want to present this series of videos as free training material – a taster of your product. By the way, I don’t usually ask for people’s name as well as their email address. Just the email address will do, because you want to make it as easy as possible for people to sign up (i.e. don’t ask for unnecessary info). And having personalized autoresponders isn’t that novel or cool anymore, so don’t bother asking for their names.
The template landing page looks like this (customize to your liking! It couldn’t be easier in the drag-and-drop editor):
Then, the subsequent pages look pretty similar. But you can drip feed the content by releasing it bit by bit.
And make sure you follow-up your leads with a series of email autoresponders as well. ClickFunnel’s basic plan ($97/month) comes with basic autoresponder function (plain text only), and the full Etison suite ($297/month) includes Actionetics – the autoresponder software built by ClickFunnels. Otherwise, if you want something in between, you can always use an autoresponder software like GetResponse that has a more gradual pricing scheme – often a solution for start-ups that want to avoid the big jump between ClickFunnels’ subscription plans.
Although your goal is to pre-sell your product, you don’t want to appear too sale-sy. Give enough value and content so that they don’t walk away thinking that they have wasted time on little more than a sales pitch. In fact, use this series of videos to build a relationship with your audience, so that when it comes to the closing pitch at the end, they are more likely to say yes to your call to action.
When you create your next product, don’t forget to start marketing and pre-selling ahead of the product launch. And it’s really easy to do so with this Product Launch Funnel. Don’t miss out – sign up for the ClickFunnels 14 day free trial to get this funnel built for you!
